Fifty years ago that inscription was written on the front of The Saga, our 1962 Clarence Central High School yearbook.
By now we are all old enough to understand and relate to that quote. Not only has time become scared to us, but also the importance of our high school years together in Clarence. As you may have heard in a phone call or earlier email from Dick Tracy, it’s time to celebrate our 50th Class Reunion for our class of 1962. You are invited to come together September 7th and 8th 2012, for a weekend of activities in Clarence.
Events are in the planning stages and we now need to have your commitment and intent to be part of the weekend. Dick has located over 100 of our classmates and nearly everyone seemed to like the prospect of a 50th Class Reunion. We are hoping to hear back from you that you and your spouse (or significant other) will attend.
A website is being set up/has been developed to keep you informed, to gather your input and to open communications not only between you and the committee but between you and your classmates. (Website is: ) We’ve started “the ball rolling” and many classmates have already show great interest being part of the festivities.
An enjoyable weekend is planned include a casual catered get together at the Town Park on Friday evening and a special dinner at the Lancaster Country Club on Saturday evening. We hope to also include a tour of high school and pending the sports schedule, possibly attending a home football game.
Now that you have the dates of September 7th and 8th you have plenty of time to plan ahead and join us. We need to ask you for a $25 commitment deposit at this time. Your deposit now will give us a firm indication of those planning to attend, as well as giving us some necessary funds to reserve the venues. We truly want this to be a fun and memorable occasion. We are trying to keep costs to a minimum while ensuring a nice quality and fun time for everyone. We will notify you of the final costs as soon as they are known. For the many of you who are now living out of the Clarence and Western New York area and will not be staying with relatives or friends in the area, we will be making arrangements with a local motel/hotel for discount lodging that you may use. We will notify you about the location and costs for this as soon as arrangements can be finalized. We will also post this information on our Reunion Website.
